Privacy & confidentiality
This notice explains how BLK Olive Care handles your personal information in line with South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), and how confidentiality works in our counselling, EAP and officiation services.
When you use the enquiry or booking form we collect your name, email address, contact number, the type of session you are requesting, your preferred date and time, and anything you choose to tell us in the notes field. We do not collect payment details through this website.
Your information is used only to respond to your enquiry, confirm an appointment, and keep the professional records required of a registered social worker. We do not sell, rent or share your details with third parties for marketing.
Everything discussed in a counselling session is confidential. The limited exceptions are those recognised in South African law and professional practice: a serious risk of harm to you or another person, the abuse or neglect of a child or vulnerable adult, or a lawful court order. Where possible, these will be discussed with you first.
Where BLK Olive Care delivers an employee assistance programme, reporting to the employer is de-identified and aggregated. Your employer is never told who attended a session or what was discussed, unless you give written consent or a legal exception applies.
Enquiry and booking records are retained for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet professional record-keeping obligations, after which they are securely deleted. Clinical records are kept for the period required by professional practice standards.
Website enquiries are transmitted over an encrypted connection and stored in an access-controlled database. Notification emails are sent only to the practice address, oageng@blkolive.co.za.
You may ask what personal information we hold about you, request that it be corrected or deleted, object to how it is processed, or withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, email oageng@blkolive.co.za or call 083 255 7511 and we will respond within a reasonable period.
This website is not an emergency service and enquiries are answered during office hours. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact:
